As long as you trim your bolt short enough to only push your box forward enough so that you can get your cover plate on, your cover plate should keep your box from pushing back further when things are being plugged in. The main idea for this trick is just to get your box forward enough to get your cover plate on. ⚡️
I can already hear…."Honey, why is there a screw pushing out of the wall?"
Maybe install the box correctly supported could help
Maybe don't cut the drywall with your 99c drywall saw all crooked
Just Maybe just saying 😂😂
Just tech screws-self taps.
Madison straps I believe they’re called ppl
Just use a stainless steel cover plate. The tenant is just gonna have to live with it
U need a few more wire nuts
Afro engineering
This tip is kind of “hacky” lmao..yeah no shit dude
What if there’s an outlet behind there and by pure luck the bolt goes into the other box and hits a live wire…
At least he told us it was hacky.
If you have that kind of gap, you could remove the outlets and slide an L-shaped piece of sheet metal strap and just zip screw it through the side at the right depth with an impact and RA attachment.
Is this box normally fixed to studs in the wall? I've watched it so many times trying to figure where it's original fixings are. Our (uk) back boxes are fixed to brick behind the bos already or clamps that trap the plasterboard on either side in a stud wall.
👍🏻Good 1
That's a good idea, I tend to use oversized metal outlet covers for support
use a madison hold it/battleship, dont be a hack.
So someone has never used battleships.
Butcher
that's getto
NeetO! nice!
Nice
The best way is to stop building cardboard houses
Drywall apprentice lol
Only God knows what’s on the other side of that hole
Just use a stainless steel cover plate and it will sandwich the wall between the box and plate lmao. Unnecessary
It’s good until some ditz jams a plug hard in there and causes the bolt to run through the other wall.
That's f**** great I can't think of how many times I ran into that problem
At this point, might as well use toggle bolts /s
Tip 3 – cut off the excess bolt sticking out the other side of the sheet rock, and patch the hole left from the bolt lol
Shame on whoever roughed that in.
That will only work if there’s a piece of wood behind if there is sheet rock, it’s just gonna go right through good try
You can also keep your shorts from falling down using this method.
If the outlets high enough on the wall you can use the end of the screw on the other side to hang a picture or something.
This is commercial work for all you diy guys in here shitting on the dude, metal studs do this shit all the time
